PACU, pre-op, pre-anesthesia testing (PAT).

Caring for the Pre-op and Post-op same day surgery patient as well as recovering same day bronchoscopy, catch lab, and IR patients.

The most recent 8 months at this hospital were spent training and working as an RN in the outpatient surgery PACU prior to that my RN duties on a DOU/Tele floor included: Acute care clinical nursing duties such as assessing, medicating, and managing care of different types of tele and step-down patients. Starting and managing IV sites, changing surgical and other dressings, supervising and delegating to CNAs, educating patients and families, supervising student nurses, filling in as acting charge nurse, responding to "code neuro" to perform NIH scale assessments, and orienting new hires. Proficient with meditech computerized charting, medical record, and medication administration.

Relocated out of state and chose to stay home with my very young children during this time while my husband was furthering his education/career. Completed required CEUs and kept my RN license current.
