Lead Starbucks environmental stewardship strategy for sustainable dairy on a global scale. As part of the Starbucks Planet Positive aspiration, I am responsible for implementing our environmental stewardship strategy and providing programmatic design with a focus on NetZero GHG reduction goals, water conservation, water quality improvements, and regenerative agriculture practices. I foster productive relationships with partners, stakeholders, producers, supply chain, and public policy to create an enabling environment to achieve our goals together.

The Center for Technical Development (CTD) was established for the purpose of ensuring that all Washington State Conservation Districts have equal access to the proper professional development opportunities to advance technical expertise and the support to consistently plan and implement diverse conservation programs unique to the clientele, available resources, and geographical influences of their region.

I have served as the Nutrient Management and Air Quality Specialist and Science and Planning Coordinator at the Whatcom Conservation District since 2008. I balance my time with my roles as adjunct professor at Washington State University, Director of the Washington Discovery Farms Program, and chair of the Center for Technical Development. My service lies in providing technical assistance through research, planning, and education on nutrient and environmental issues to agricultural producers, agencies, and industry across Washington State and the US. My research program focuses on working with dairy and livestock producers on effectiveness monitoring of conservation management practices and development of models and decision support tools for better land management and natural resource protection.

Conducted research on best management practices (BMP) for dairy and feedlot operations to reduce their air quality impacts and improve efficiency.
