I am the Director and owner of Black Vanilla and have 30 years’ experience in the PR industry, working in Australia, the UK, and more recently, in the Channel Islands. I specialise in strategic public relations services including corporate affairs, crisis and internal communications.My day-to-day role involves leading client services at Black Vanilla whilst also constantly evolving the agency to ensure we remain relevant in the changing communications landscape. I also manage the company's finances and business development, and maintain our PRCA Communications Management Standard - the 'hallmark' of PR excellence.Alongside my client work, I lead a number of different PR, social media and writing training courses, including media training for spokespeople. I have spoken at a number of events about the role of communications in corporate risk management, cyber security and sustainability. Having worked in-house and for large agencies, I set up my first agency over 15 years ago in London. I joined Black Vanilla as a business partner in 2016 and took over sole ownership of the agency in February 2019. Since then, the team has grown from three to 10 staff members who are based in Guernsey, Jersey and the UK. My focus is on growing the business whilst also contributing to the community.Founded in 2008, Black Vanilla offers an integrated and tailor-made approach to PR and reputation management, delivering public relations, event organisation, copywriting and social media services. We work with clients in Guernsey, Jersey, Isle of Man, Gibraltar and the UK.I have been a Member of the CIPR since 2004 and was made a Fellow in 2021, I am also a Chartered practitioner - the highest accreditation in professional public relations practice.
