Helping others achieve their goals brings me joy; from a young age, I found that helping people was my calling. My passion stems from mental health advocacy and DEI. And I love the outdoors in the PNW!I have been within the non-profit mental health field for the past 11 years, working direct care with children and youth and indirect as a Human Resources professional. I have been in Human Resources for 6 years, I began as an assistant and have since worked my way to become the Sr. HR Manager. I had excellent mentors and supervisors entering into this field, they really helped me hone my skills and find my footing. My experience is well rounded into a generalist background, being part of a 6 person team with an agency averaging 690-710 employees means we do a bit of everything rather than being sectioned off into our specialties. I did specialize in benefits reconciliation/administration and workers compensation early on. In my role now, I handle a fair amount of employee relations, I oversee employee evaluations, and regularly consult with management teams. I have experience running internal investigations, and working with employment law in terms of policies and practices. I also have experience in updating policies for legal updates and monitoring for upcoming employment law changes. I find personal growth renews my drive, so I regularly take trainings to continue learning and adapting as things change. I like to build training support for positions that I am in, to ensure knowledge can be maintained in any circumstances. I am also a member of the Valley SHRM chapter.
