The system compiled the data and printed the charts and graphs documenting time for a part to go through a machine (TAKT time), Parts per Labour Hour (PPLH), and First Time Throughput (FTT).In this project I learned how to extensively use Microsoft Excel and gained the knowledge to program using Visual Basics.

Summer co-op position as an engineer in training.I was responsible for and completed six main projects. In the first project I analyzed the fuel consumption, relative economics and carbon footprint from before and after the use of hybrid vehicles in the company fleet. In the second project I determined if the company fleet price for fuel provided a cost savings when compared to the market price and the price at commercial city pumps. In the third I calculated the net present values of the hybrid vehicles introduced to the fleet versus existing non-hybrid or older technology hybrid vehicles to determine whether the purchase was cost effective. For the fourth project I researched the Chevrolet Volt and created a presentation and a report about the vehicle to educate the engineers, technicians and mechanics of the company. In the fifth project I developed a cost/benefit analysis of using a more automated system to track fleet vehicle data. The sixth project was my summary report covering what I had learned and observed about the technologies at the Green Fleet Expo VII held in Niagara Falls.
