I learned a hard work ethic working on farms as a young person when I could only drag 100 pound bales of hay. I also learned here that others depend on me. I had a mission critical role in a small team environment where mistakes are accepted but lack of trying is never condoned. From my roots in engineering, I apply a technically sound approach to continuous improvement and problem solving. My application of statistics in my early career helped Physio-Control navigate through a consent decree by re-establishing their process validations and process controls. As I grew to lead larger and more diverse teams, I became passionate about strategy, alignment, improving systems and building people. I am fearlessly truthful and this vulnerability builds high trust that attracts and engages people to work through difficult things. With more than 10 years of elective leadership training, I have mastered the use of curiosity and inquiry as engagement tools. I help lead by visualizing systems, flows and interdependencies. I add value through well placed questions and in collaborative problem solving moments. I challenge people’s thinking and direct them in areas of blindness or ambiguity. I have a servant’s heart to help people simplify their roles, better understand their systems and continuously improve.Strategically I lead through understanding of business needs, current conditions, data analysis, and aligned goals. I drive energetically, own the results and remain adaptable to changing requirements.
