I’m a photographer/visual artist with a background in design.My professional career has emerged from numerous exotic travels and artistic adventures. This wealth of experience includes taking part in a large scale art project in Philadelphia, working as a photographer in both Verona and Florence, helping to reconstruct the famous Djenne Mosque out of mud in Mali, and working on the renowned Icehotel in Lapland.As a photographer and designer I search for new opportunities within and beyond existing visual paradigms. In my work one will find the bold playfulness rooted in Pop Art, some of that cheeky imaginativeness that is so typical for conceptual Dutch design, and a deep love for the craft of my profession. My aesthetic is playful, thoughtful, humorous and edgy. All of this is evidenced, for instance, in the psychedelic portraits of the ‘Miss Rockaway Armada’ that capture the magic of their performance, or in her more dreamy depiction of the famous Burning Man festival, sensing the soul of the event in the Black Rock dessert of Nevada through a pinhole lens.Growing up in my mother's interior architecture studio in the Netherlands, and with bachelor's degrees in both Fashion Design and Photography, and a master's from the Design Academy Eindhoven, I seamlessly blend different design disciplines with 2D outcomes.In 2020 I founded Ketting Kledingruil. A corona proof clothes swap initiative that has taken The Netherlands by storm. Currently we are expanding across the border, with the help of our partner Slow Fashion Movement.
