About Nick Acosta

I'm a lifelong learner with a passion for creativity and connection. Because of my core values, I have had the opportunity to pursue two diverse career paths simultaneously.First, I have been an educator for the past 15 years and I have successfully developed my ability to collaborate, analyze data, create learning opportunities, and cultivate relationships with a variety of stakeholders. I've learned about the types of resources educators want and need in the classroom in contents that range from Middle School Math to High School Humanities. I am skilled at meeting the needs of diverse learners and I consistently infuse strategies for equity and inclusion into my work. In my leadership roles in education, I have created learning experiences for adult learners, helped to onboard new staff, and facilitated team meetings. In my 10th year teaching, I received a selective teaching award for my work.Additionally, I have founded, managed, and scaled my own Independent Zine & Record Label. My successes within this label have been written up in The Chicago Reader, Brooklyn Vegan, and No Echo. It's not just a hobby! At New Morality Zine (NMZ) I have recruited over 15 bands from across the world. Because of my marketing, branding, and networking focus with NMZ, I have consistently experienced profitable years since the start. I also have been able to build relationships across the country which have led to opportunities to showcase NMZ's products and content. In both these careers, relationships and connections have played an integral role in my success. I have built trusting relationships with generations of families in schools and I have cultivated customer relationships across a variety of social media platforms for NMZ.
