About Nick Aiston

I am currently working as a Business Consultant for Cardiff and Vale College, looking at supporting employers with tailored training packages to help up skill their current workforce, while understanding what skills shortages there are in certain sectors and how we as a College can support this.Previous to working for the college I worked in retail for over 15 years, I decided to take my transferable skills and work in the Education Sector. My first role at Cardiff and Vale College was as a Careers Officer. I was able to take my many years as a training manager and mentor to other managers and supervisors into this role. I supported 100s of learners with their career planning and future goals and I was able to empower them to make confident and informed decisions on their future. This such a fulfilling role and I did this for just under 5 years before moving into my current position.Outside of my professional career I also do alot of work as a volunteer football coach. I currently support 5 different teams, I am the Reserve Team Manager for Ely Rangers, while I also help coach their youth team and I am lead coach for one of the Mini and Junior age groups. I also coach an age group at Cardiff City Advanced Development Centre and I help coach an age group at Academy 3. I have always had a passion for football, but have always had that desire to support and develop talent, but most importantly keep people active and enjoying sport.I have lots of skills and abilities I have developed over the years from all my different backgrounds but I would say my top 5 are - CoachingMentoringMan Management/People SkillsPlanning Time Management

Listed skills include Training, Coaching, Advising People, Interpersonal Skills, and 16 others.
