I graduated from ASU in 2018 with degrees in Computer Information Systems and Business Data Analytics. During my last year of school I contracted for American Express on a DevOps team where I did Python scripting and data visualization in Splunk. When I graduated I was hired as a software engineer at Amex and entered a rotation program, spending 8 months in 3 different organizations. During the rotations I spent time doing data visualization, Java development, and application health and risk analysis. I ended up staying with my final rotation team where I split my time between application health analysis and working with another team that focused on internal Slack chatbot development. The bot was built in the Botpress framework and written in Javascript. I built Javascript flows in Botpress for the bot, which allowed internal users within the company to access a variety of functions that the bot could perform such as application health status, scheduling future jobs to be ran, checking the status of exceptions, looking up user or hierarchy information, and automatically notifying application owners when the health of their applications has dropped and needs attention. I also generated powerBI reports and dashboards to analyze the usage and traffic of the chatbot.
