He is also the President of Basketball for the WSA WorldSportsAlumni.com He was the Orlando Magic’s first-ever NBA Draft selection out of the University of Illinois (11th overall, 1989 NBA Draft), Anderson played ten seasons for Orlando from 1989-99. In 2014, along with Pat Williams, Anderson was an inaugural inductee into the Orlando Magic Hall of Fame. He was also inducted into the Chicagoland Sports Hall of Fame in September 2016.Anderson may best be remembered for one of the greatest moments in Magic history – stealing the ball from Michael Jordan during the closing seconds of Game 1 of the 1995 Eastern Conference Semifinals, allowing Orlando to win the contest and eventually move on to the NBA Finals.In 2005-06, Anderson was the first honoree as part of the Magic’s “Commitment to the Past” program, a multi-season effort aimed at embracing Magic history and the team’s former players. Anderson won the inaugural Rich and Helen DeVos Community Enrichment Award in 1995-96. He also serves as a pregame and postgame analyst for select games on FOX Sports Florida.
