Based in Qatar and supplying 2.2 Bcf/d gas to the UAE and Oman.● The project involves daily production of around 500K boe. The main project driver being to supply gas to the UAE, however, it also produces large quantities of Propane, Butane and Ethane as well as Condensate and Sulphur.● Reporting to the VP Projects covering all the Dolphin Upstream and Midstream EPC contracts, including 2 No. wellhead platforms, 2 No 36” sea lines, 2.2 Bcf/d gas process plant and 360 km 48” gas export line between Qatar and the UAE.● Principle role was to ensure that each element of the project communicated effectively at the interface boundaries and delivered its sub project on time and to budget.● Supplied contractual solutions to technical and commercial issues in an environment significantly impacted by a large number of very large developments that had a major impact on resource availability.● Involved in the daily management of all the EPC contractors, as well as troubleshooting performance issues across all the contracts.● As project sponsor, developed a subsidiary project to expand and then share facilities with other operators benefiting Dolphin in terms of available storage and loading facilities for LS condensate. These involved the commercial negotiations with partners and assembly of a DEL management team to scope and then execute FEED and EPC contracts.● Provided focused project and commercial support to all the project areas and the Dolphin Commercial group, based in Abu Dhabi.● Negotiation of performance related variations with EPC contractors to enhance project delivery.● Experienced managing large complex multi ethnic contractors and staff in a challenging environment -
Project ManagerTotal E&P Aug 2002 - Aug 2005Paris Area, France2003 – 2005 TOTAL SA AKPO FPSO Topside ManagerAKPO is a deep offshore Nigerian project founded on a field development in approximately 1300 meters seawater with some 36 wells, SCR’s an FPSO and loading buoy rated at a throughput of 185K BBL/d and 150 MM scf/d of gas for export via pipeline to Bonny LNG. Total investment in the order of US$4.5 Billion● Joined the project for FEED and responsible for the topsides process design and the scoping of the EPC contract for a 310 Metre FPSO.● This included some 40,000 tonnes of process and utilities equipment. With particular emphasis on Power generation (>120MW), multiple gas compressor trains and water injection pumps.● During FEED and Basic assumed the role of Engineering manager in addition to the Topside managers role.● Managed the Basic engineering content of some 120,000 man-hours (entire project scope).● Total supervisory team of 25 engineers and in excess of 100 contractor engineers.● Developed the contractual strategy and thence led team in preparation of contract documents, tendering and award for assignable LLI’s (power generation, water injection trains and gas compression trains) along with the FPSO EPC.● Managed the FPSO tender, evaluation and ultimately the award and commencement (mobilization) of the FPSO EPC Contractor and assignment of all LLIs -

Engineering ManagerSincor Aug 1997 - Jan 2001Caracas, VenezuelaUpstream Project Engineering ManagerSincor was a JV Operating Company formed between Total, Statoil and PdVSA with the intent of exploiting Venezuela’s extensive EHO in the Orinoco belt. It involved an onshore field development capable of extracting 210K BBl’s of EHO, basic processing and export via shared pipeline around 200KM to an up-grader located on the Caribbean coast; Total investment of around US$4 Billion of which US$720 was for the upstream field facilities. ● Total SA were acting as the technical lead for the project and the role involved the management of the Upstream Project engineering design from Basic through detailed preparation of EPC contracts, EPC execution and construction management.● Due to the nature of the development and limited experience with EHO a highly flexible and pragmatic approach was required. ● The development included main process station located in a Greenfield site with extensive environmental protection issues, design and construction of 36 well pads, approximately 100+ km of roads, 100s km’s of HV electrical distribution and multiple product gathering lines and Naphtha distribution lines.● Each well pad involved up to 18 wells with submersible pumps and VF drives along with a single or twin combination of multi-phase pumps. ● The role involved the management of a team of 25-30 owner engineers and up to 250 Contractor engineers as well as the development of innovative MFP solutions for gathering diluted product.Key challenges in the role included the coaching and mentoring of junior staff as well as managing in a multi-cultural environment. -

Involving the design and manufacture of a custom built machine tool operated by divers● Design, procurement and installation of the world’s first steel cored replacement umbilical (~10 km long) for Methanol service on the Ellon subsea field. ● Subsea in-situ Christmas tree strip down and rebuild to repair a major gas leak.● The recovery, shipment onshore and repair of a 60 tonne subsea manifold from the Ellon field.● Technical study for the Dunbar South EPS leading to the preparation of the FID dossier and ultimately to the establishment of the project team for the execution of the project.● Execution of the technical study leading to the establishment of a project team to manage the ALE (Alwyn Liquid Export) line.● Development of an autonomous tool for use on the Frigg system to enable valve replacement operations to be carried out without the need to de-pressurise the pipeline.
