I work with Central Tech, the team responsible for maintaining live services and increasing developer productivity for the game teams. My area of expertise is specifically with all things related to iOS and how Toca Boca games interact with native iOS system frameworks.

I worked with the iOS SDK for HID's Seos credential technology. This SDK enables clients to build mobile apps that can open HID door locks over bluetooth, instead of using a smart card. I was particularly focused on integrating the Seos SDK with the iOS app that accompanies the Abloy BEAT bluetooth padlock.

Initially I worked on Clavister’s NetShield firewall product, in particular its incoming SSL inspection feature. Then I designed and began implementing a macOS version of Clavister’s OneConnect VPN client software. After some prototyping we built a small team to get OneConnect for macOS shipped and added new features over time.

I worked on several different teams responsible for backend systems as well as the iOS and desktop clients. Server side areas of the product I spent the most time on included those responsible for authentication and authorization, music metadata lookup, Facebook integration, and search. In the Spotify client, the majority of my time was spent working with the team responsible for track sequencing. I also spent about a year as the technical product owner for Spotify's auth/login systems, and earlier I supervised two students working on their master’s theses at Spotify.

I worked both on one of Plausible’s own iOS apps called Peeps as well as development of iOS apps for clients.

Working within a small team, I maintained about sixty FreeBSD servers and the networks that power a Java-based game platform, web sites, and databases in production, as well as internal corporate services such as email, backups, version control, and continuous integration. Additionally, I contributed enhancements and fixes to open source software used by the company, and worked on improving internally developed infrastructure software.

San Francisco Bay Area

Provided computing support to a group of astrophysicists. I wrote a Perl wrapper API to the HPSS disk/tape archival storage system used by the lab, and maintained a small computational cluster, database server, web server, and several Linux workstations.

Greater Seattle Area

I was responsible for administration of Linux systems and the network used by a team of USDA Forest Service research scientists. I maintained a small 20 node Linux cluster running computationally intensive meteorological models and managed the large (for the time) amounts of data generated by the models.

Worked with one other system administrator to maintain a constantly expanding network of Linux based machines serving, at the time, over one million blogs. Developed and maintained monitoring and centralized logging systems.

I maintained several dozen servers, mostly Linux based, for a national ISP. Most of these machines were DNS caches, RADIUS servers, proxies, and game servers located at remote POPs. Also worked with Cisco and Redback switches, and other network hardware.
