Nick has been using behavioural science to help individuals and organisations achieve their goals since 1999. He is a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst, UKBA(cert), and has an MSc in Applied Behaviour Analysis.Nick has extensive experience of delivering Positive Behavioural Support (PBS) in social care settings. He is the founder of the Barratt Behaviour Change Consultancy, which works with a range of clients, including typically developing children, people with a learning disability or autism, and people with Foetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD). Services include function-based behavioural intervention, service design and development, supervising practitioners (trainee and qualified behaviour analysts), and embedding PBS in organisations.In a previous role Nick managed a team of 19 Behaviour Consultants, developed services for people whose behaviours challenge and took part in research on organisation-wide PBS.Nick chairs the Applied Behaviour Analysis Forum, a professionals’ group he co-founded in 2008, and is a member of the Sharland Foundation Developmental Disabilities Applied BehaviouralResearch and Impact Network.Between 2015 and 2023, he served on the board of the UK Society for Behaviour Analysis, an organisation which promotes the application of behavioural science to issues of social significance.. In 2014 he co-authored a book called Feeling Cross and Sorting it Out, which focuses on the interactional nature of challenging behaviour.
