I AM a carpenter who has built/remodeled homes for 40 years, tho now I love free-thought building greenhouses, gazebos, workshops or gardens (rock/flower OR food) out of 70-90% TRASH !We Americans sadly throw too many useful things away which can become a valued part of our homes. I scavenge/dumpster-dive wood, windows and roofing and more that I use to create what I need & desire. This past summer I built my wonderful workshop where I create my cat condos, a greenhouse/reading room was last year's and a storage shed with an antique refrigerator door tool-bin was the year before. My 200 some square feet of paving stones are granite kitchen counter-top scraps with grass or sedum plants growing in the cracks. I estimate that that I've kept 2-4 tons of wood/stone/glass debris out of the landfill.I can take your pile of "junk" and turn it into "treasure" or I can collect/scavenge what your job needs to create YOUR creative sanctuary..a plant-rack tweaked from a clothes-rack sits next to the door of your 360% glass/screened gazebo where you have your morning coffee or write that novel that's in you.
