Risk Management Leader (Associate Director) - Hs2 ProjectArup May 2016 - Feb 2019London, United KingdomEngaged by Arup in this key role on Europe's largest infrastructure project, HS2 - high speed rail from London to the north of England value ca. $160bn. Supporting both the Design Assurance and Commercial team for rail and allied infrastructure projects. Arup led the design house consortium supporting the Construction Contractor Skanska-Costain-Strabag JV for the Main Works Civils Contract, Stage 1, South from Euston Station to West Ruislip - a 25km tunnel, embankments, bridges and associated works. I worked closely with the consortium partners providing Scheme Design including detailed risk analysis for the executive team, liaising with HSE, environment, engineering, technical and stakeholder interface leads. Also managed Value Engineering and contributed to Systems Assurance working directly with SCS leadership. The team was quite diverse and reflects a shared desire to shape a better world through developing solutions across the built environment.
