I developed Time Credits programmes in community areas across Wiltshire, in liaison with Wiltshire Council and local organisations. Time Credits are a tool for supporting engagement of people in communities. People earn Time Credits through giving time to their communities through local organisations and are able to spend them on activities with a spend partner who has agreed to accept them. I was responsible for signing up organisations, supporting the network, monitoring and evaluating impact and developing the sustainability of the programmes.

Managed two major projects to promote communication and collaboration between local authorities and community groups - Community Rights Made Real (Dudley) and Bridging the Mismatch (East Midlands).Co-ordinated and facilitated events including national programmes around Big Society, Community Rights and social investment.Produced accessible policy information for the website, email bulletins and various publications.Undertook research on issues affecting community organisations, including co-ordinating two policy forums (community cohesion and the built environment).

I delivered training to a range of public sector and voluntary sector organisations involved in community development, regeneration and resident involvement. Workshops included community involvement, community group development, communication and networking, volunteer management, presentation skills, community newsletters, event and workshop facilitation, effective meetings, project planning and evaluation. I was an associate trainer for the Neighbourhood Initiatives Foundation, the Tenant Participation Advisory Service and London Voluntary Services Council. I facilitated events and supported organisations to develop communication strategies and action plans.

Developed and co-ordinated Quest’s national services to support community networking and participation. Managed a three year project supporting community participation in Local Strategic Partnerships. Planned and facilitated networking events throughout England. Wrote the Quest Guide to Networking and various articles for Grass Routes Community News AgencyDesigned and delivered training and event workshops.Chaired Quest Line telephone conferences bringing together tenant and community activists to share knowledge and provide mutual support.

Liaised with community groups, voluntary organisations, housing associations, local authorities and regeneration partnerships to promote Quest’s services such as Quest Line teleconferencing and Grass Routes Community News Agency.Co-ordinated a series of Widening Community Participation workshops to promote Black and Minority Ethnic tenant participation in housing and neighbourhood renewal.Managed the London element of Project Hermes, a pan-European initiative developing communication techniques to overcome social exclusion in Turkish speaking communities.

Facilitated community participation in regeneration programmes on social housing estates in Hammersmith & Fulham. The work included carrying out surveys to identify new activities, co-ordinating meetings, providing one-to-one support to community groups, co-ordinating an 'opportunities fair' held in the QPR Football Stadium and providing information up-dates on regeneration programmes.
