I am on a mission to make everyone that travels feel like a local. As previous creative lead for Tourism Australia, my team managed the acquisition marketing campaign that reported $4.11 billion in tourism income. I also managed major campaigns for Qantas and Virgin Australia through to the development of key branding and marketing independent hotels around the world.I knew something was missing from the hotel experience. Then one day, when I was travelling in Buenos Aires, I met Patricia, the owner of a thriving boutique hotel. She was giving her guests a remarkable little black book full of her local secrets. We used her book and got immersed in a completely new side of travel. This little book inspired me to create my company Journey Makr. Combining 20+ years of experience in tourism, tech and branding, I set out to create local guides that hotels could provide their guests and profit from. Journey Makr’s data-driven platform connects people’s travel preferences with snackable recommendations by tapping into the best local knowledge which gives them a more elevated immersive experience.
