I was part of the Geotechnical Engineering and Solid Waste Management Group and specialized in the design, permitting, and construction of landfills. Additional responsibilities included various design calculations relating to all aspects of landfills, including stormwater management and erosion control; hydrologic/hydraulic modeling; researching code and regulations; cost estimating; and construction oversight and CQA of landfill liners, final covers, and stormwater and erosion control features. Other experience included: stormwater modeling and analysis on remediation projects, routine landfill gas monitoring and minor maintenance on closed landfills, and construction oversight and CQA on remediation projects.

This experience involved two summer internships relating to the design and construction of airport runway/taxiway expansion and reconstruction projects at the Dane County Regional Airport in Madison, WI. Primary responsibilities involved quantity takeoffs and cost estimating, AutoCAD work; checking grade alignments, surveying, daily report writing, and construction oversight and CQA of all aspects of construction.
