I manage a team of Hydrology specialists that includes 2 Senior Scientists, 1 Senior Analyst, 5 Senior Environmental Monitoring Officers and 2 Environmental Monitoring Officers. This team undertakes all the hydrometric monitoring across the Greater Wellington Region including an extensive network of over 250 automated surface water flow, lake level, ground water level, rainfall and climate sites. We also manage all of the data coming from these sites and then undertake analysis and research that informs our Environmental Policy setting and Environmental Regulatory functions. Data and information from the Hydrology programmes also underpins many other science and other programmes across council, NGO's, Crown Research institutes and private industry. In this role I was responsible for undertaking and helping manage the Hydrometric Monitoring programme. This included managing an extensive network of monitoring sites, configuring and deploying monitoring instrumentation, and managing and quality assuring the data produced by the network.
