About Nick Boynton
As a senior meteorology major at North Carolina State University, I am passionate about communicating weather impacts and forecasts to the public. I have gained a tremendous amount of knowledge about how our atmosphere works and I am ready to put it to good use in various settings and platforms.I am currently a meteorologist at Carolina Week, UNC's student-run news station, where I record live weather broadcasts weekly in a fast-paced studio environment. I also run my own personal Twitter account, where I release my predictions and inform the public on impending weather events that could affect the area. Additionally, I am an official member of the American Meteorological Society (AMS) and a member of the soundings club at NCSU, where I help launch weather balloons and provide data to the National Weather Service in Raleigh during high-impact weather events. These experiences have enhanced my skills in newsroom, computer graphics, presentations, and data analysis, as well as my ability to work with diverse teams and audiences. My goal is to pursue a career in broadcast meteorology, but I am open to any opportunity that allows me to share my enthusiasm and expertise in meteorology with others. I believe that weather is not only a fascinating science, but also a vital service that can save lives and property. I am eager to learn from the best and contribute to the common good of the community.
