While posted here as a 3rd year PGG Trainee I gained experience working in all areas of the Botanic Gardens including the Great Glasshouse, Tropical House, Boulder Garden, Walled Garden and Broad Walk. I also assisted in the plant propagation schedule for the Garden's large Mediterranean collection, and temporarily took over the schedule of work completely while the Propagation Manager was away on sick leave. For the 2019 RHS Cardiff Flower Show the National Botanic Garden of Wales created a well-being garden as a feature garden for the show, for which I was the lead designer. The garden received much attention and praise during the flower show, with a few radio and TV broadcaster choosing to interview us about the garden. Being a feature garden we were excluded from the judging process but were able to invite people in to walk through and sit in the space.
