My two main academic interests are Computer Science and Japanese, though I also enjoy studying Biology. As such, I am always looking for ways to combine my interests: NLP combines my language ability with computer science, whereas Computational Biology utilizes my biology background. Although I have not had the chance to explore it in a professional context, I am also interested in program localization and globalization. In a professional context, I have spent time doing everything from low level assembly analysis for reverse engineering to client side mobile game programming to server side web service programming.Though I am not currently working in game programming, I am very interested in the indie gaming scene, and hope to bring my own game ideas to market.

Software EngineerCyberagent, Inc. Sep 2014 - Apr 2018渋谷Formerly (Oct 2014 - Mar 2015) worked in the Mock Tech Lab, a department focused on R&D/experimental technologies. Programming done mostly in Unity/C#, with some personal study of Swift on the side. Also worked (June 2015 - Jan 2016) as a Unity engineer on the Uchihime Project (ウチの姫様が一番カワイイプロジェクト). I headed optimization and performance tuning efforts; with careful profiler analysis and refactoring, was able to reduce memory load by up to 20%, and reduce load time by up to 60%. I also single-handedly implemented "light mode," a setting aimed at people with lower end devices, or those who wish to minimize amount of cell data used. Other responsibilities included implementing new gameplay mechanics, and updating UI (nGUI) for a smoother player experience.Later (Jan 2016 - Apr 2018) worked as one of two server side (Java) engineers managing the nearly 30 repositories that make up Ameba MyPage—a website that has ~300k DAU on PC, and over 500k on mobile. One of my primary responsibilities is analytics—I implemented almost all of the analytic logging on the site, used for obtaining all statistics in relation to site usage. I also created a fully automated system using Python that queries for view, tap, and CTR data for all logged portions of our site, processes them into a human readable format, and uploads them to Google Sheets, primarily for use by our business/marketing people. Other responsibilities included refactoring large sections of legacy code (5+ years old) code, implementing new APIs, and being responsible for the overall build and deploy flow, a process I reconfigured using Jenkins from the ground up. -
