Nick is a Technical Director at AECOM. He has an extensive range of technical and project management experience domestically and internationally in strategic level environmental and social impact assessment to inform policies, plans and programmes in a range of sectors. He also has wide experience in carrying out interdisciplinary project and masterplan level environmental and social impact assessments and contributing to environmental policy development.In the UK and the Republic of Ireland, Nick has 19 years’ experience in leading strategic environmental assessments (SEA), sustainability appraisals (SA) and integrated impact assessments (IIAs) for a range of plans, programmes and strategies. Nick also has significant expertise and experience in supporting neighbourhood groups, local planning authorities and examiners on Neighbourhood Planning issues and is one of the AECOM leads implementing the DLUHC/Locality Technical Support programme for Neighbourhood Plans.Internationally Nick has worked on behalf of a range of private and public sector clients in Europe, the Middle East, Asia, West Africa and East Africa. He has close familiarity with international standards such as those from the IFC, EBRD, ADB, OECD and Equator Principles and has particular specialisms in undertaking strategic environmental assessment (SEA) and strategic environmental and social assessment (SESA). He also has significant experience in leading ecosystem services assessments and cumulative impact assessments for international ESIAs.
