Nick Clark is the environment editor at Al Jazeera English, where he plays a leading role in shaping the channel’s environmental coverage. He also works as a network presenter and correspondent and is a Royal Television Society award winner. A Knight Science Journalism Fellow at MIT, Nick studied the impacts of climate change on terrestrial and marine ecosystems. He has travelled to the Arctic several times and reported on the retreating ice sheet in Greenland. On one expedition to the edge of the sea ice, Nick was forced to flee by sail in an epic summer storm across Baffin Bay to the Canadian coast. Nick also directed and presented an acclaimed documentary on a Greenpeace expedition to the remote Weddell Sea in Antarctica In March 2018.He’s reported on the disappearance of the world’s tropical glaciers in the Andes and the shark fin trade from the Middle East to Hong Kong, plus the efforts to save the Siberian tiger in the temperate forests of the Russian Far East. He’s also made short films on the conflict between wolf and man in remote parts of Finland and the plight of gorillas in Uganda.Nick’s also an accomplished news correspondent, most recently reporting from Jerusalem on the murder of Al Jazeera journalist Shireen Abu Akleh and from Westminster Abbey for the funeral of the Queen.Nick frequently moderates panels especially in the environment arena most recently for the Right Here Right Now Conference in Boulder, Colorado.Nick also sits on the Advisory Committee of the World Bank's Averted Disaster Awards.
