• Daily management of the South Island Operations Team responsible for four South Island Ports.• Responsibility for efficient handling of cargo bookings and the loading of cargo• Undertaking of Agency and Operational functions for MSC owned, chartered and managed vessels for the Southern Region.• Allocation of work orders with vessel officers and service providers as required.• Overall responsibility for cargo documentation including hazardous, reefer and balance load lists.• Ensuring the Operations Team followed all Port and MSC Health & Safety guidelines, including Port inductions, PPE, and reporting• Ensure sufficient container stock levels are maintained to meet booking demands.• Undertaking of vessel reporting, balancing, and customs declarations.

• Vessel husbandry duties including meeting vessels on arrival and departure, arranging crew changeovers and any repairs required whilst in Port.• Completing all required reporting for the vessel, and updating berth plans according to schedules.• Running daily reports to monitor stock levels, ensuring sufficient stock in available to meet demands.• Liaising with vessels officers and service providers to ensure services are provided and invoiced correctly.• Maintain strong relationships with key staff within the four South Island Ports.• Note any special requests, costing and operational requirements and communicating these to MSC as necessary.• Monitor container turn-around times, advising clients of any penalties incurred.• Providing support and assistance to the Operations Supervisor as required.
