-Manage a team of 10+ underwriters specializing in home equity loan and home equity line products.-Ensure daily service level agreements are met to provide an efficient application process for each client.-Manually underwrite complex home equity applications for credit and policy exceptions.-Conduct interviews, evaluate candidates and hire new team members.-Engage direct reports during daily huddles and monthly one-on-ones to discuss productivitygoals and credit risk expectations as well as provide coaching and career path direction.-Developed an underwriter training program to provide uniform instruction to all newunderwriters. Established standard timeframes to complete training and obtain lending authority. -Review and analyze all aspects of the borrowers credit, employment/income and assets profile. -Analyze credit risk to determine credit worthiness based upon credit policy, regulatory guidelines and established standards.-Process private banking and specialty loan applications-Communicate decision to the point of origination within established timeframes-Partner with branch and private banking associates as well as state and county loan programs -Second review of all declined real estate applications to insure compliance with bank and government guidelines-Training of new hires as well as continued training and coaching of the home equity loan team-Manage day to day operations including reviews of complicated requests with the branch network and their senior leadership, insure the team is meeting our service level agreements and conducting daily meetings.
