I was in charge of the safety and operation of the climbing facilities at Camp Geronimo in the summer of 2021. The staff that I lead was tasked with teaching the climbing merit badge program to an average of 30 young scouts per week. Climbing is one of the most high risk areas in camp, and it requires extensive classes and certifications to oversee the program. The Scouts of America trained me to receive a climbing level 2 certification, which is necessary to operate any climbing facility in scouts.
