Served as advisor to the Director on overall matters relating to the Transportation Division. Serves as a member of the Commanders Technical Staff and is the command's subject matter expert relating to Transportation issues. Attends meetings and conferences to participate in the formulation of plans; discuss and resolve problems, furnish information; present and defend the division's position; and recommend course of action on transportation operations. Plans and manages the Transportation Division activities within available resources to provide optimum response to needs and requirements of assigned, attached or supported elements of the installation. Implements policies, programs and systems based on guidance and directives of higher headquarters, policies, programs and systems; and promote effectiveness, improved techniques, increased employee output, and reduced unit cost of production. Direct supervision of 14 subordinate employees. Evaluates and tracks non-tactical vehicle program recommending better utilization and more efficient operations. Directs the operation of a motor pool fleet of over 670 Vehicles. Manages the outbound freight operations, coordinating with customers, carriers, and other vested organizations. Coordinates the movement of cargo throughout the US and around the world. Supervises the processing of household goods shipments on behalf of Soldiers and government civilians. Provides oversight of the Passenger Travel Office for the booking of military and commercial airline, rail, and bus tickets.
