I have recently qualified as a Youth MHFA instructor and am keen to start helping other people discover more about mental health, beat the stigma surrounding mental health and support young people in mental distress. Leading and revamping the rugby program at Uppingham School, an incredibly exciting project involving over 300 players and 20 coaches. Uppingham is a school with great history, people and potential and I look forward to being part of it. I am already enjoying helping the current players redesign the culture and watching their journey of leaving their legacy at the school.

Full time professional rugby player for BOPB, a club with great history and heritage. Located in the South of France, in the heart of the Basque country, it is blessed with views of the Pyrenees, spectacular beaches and fantastic people. I am loving learning the language and getting to experience another country and another way of life. I have no doubt my experience here will hold me in good stead for whatever passes after.

Murrayfield

Full time professional rugby player for Edinburgh Rugby and Scotland. This involves training every aspect of fitness (strength, power, speed and fitness) whilst analysing myself and the opposition through the latest sport coded technology. Putting all of this together on the training pitch and more importantly on game day. As a senior player for both club and country I also have the added responsibility of being involved in the Leader's group for both. I enjoy the extra responsibility and being able to work with the management and coaches at a higher level.This responsibility also requires me to interact with the press, ranging from newspaper interviews to live television broadcasts. This is a part of the job that I really enjoy, especially when live in the TV studio.The job also requires us to interact with sponsors and the public in a number of player appearances. Being ambassadors for our sport, team and nation is a great opportunity to promote rugby as a source of fun, exercise, good mental health and education.During my time at Edinburgh Rugby I also organise their annual Charity Calendar for Maggie's Cancer Caring Centres. Over three years we have managed to raise over £30k and my transferable skills have been greatly enhanced. This project demands that I coordinate 14+ venues (including the likes of Edinburgh Castle and the Signet Library); 36 male models; photographers; printers; organise promotional events and press representation; manage a website and the relevant accounts. The calendar is funded through monthly sponsorship, requiring that I network and maintain links with a wide range of businesses and individuals, ensuring that their skills and services are well represented.
