As a graduate teaching assistant for Virginia Tech's Process Materials (CHE 4104) course, I worked with professors to help grade homework problems and exams. Additionally, I held weekly office hours in order to help students understand high level topics in polymers and materials science.

As senior class rep, I assisted undergraduate Chemical Engineering students in successfully navigating college life. I served as a liaison between AIChE executive board and the class of ’24 to bolster academic comradery. The class rep also helps to coordinate events with an executive board of likeminded peers.

As president of the ChemE Car Club, I orchestrated a team of motivated students of various disciplines to create a shoebox sized car powered from Aluminum-Air batteries and an Iodide clock-based stopping mechanism. Additionally, I helped team members to communicate presentations and information to faculty advisors on our team’s status. I also helped ensure.

Carried out research focusing on the potential for organic polymer gels to act as transdermal drug delivery devices under the supervision of Dr. Kenneth Mineart.Initial focus was on the investigation of surfactant ability to self-assemble into micellar structures in mineral oil and polymer gels. These structures are able to diffuse through polymer gels.

I helped students conduct experiments that reinforced the principles of analytical chemistry, such as quantitative transfer and lab safety. Additionally, I supported students in their introduction to new chemical analysis techniques including UV-Vis Spectroscopy and High Liquid Performance Chromatography.
