Working within the driver assistance team, I’m responsible for ensuring all the hardware and package requirements are met for various sensors and cameras within the driver assistance team at Bentley Motors. Tasks include developing CAD (Catia V5) models and FEA simulations of components that are used to position and securely mount DAS sensors and cameras to the vehicle.

Responsible for leading design and development projects within WCM. These turnkey projects typically involve taking early concepts from the client and maturing the design into fully productionised products, followed by support to our production team until job 1. Tasks include CAD design (Catia V5, Siemens NX), managing contract CAD engineers, project management, DFMEA, testing and design validation, DFM and working closely with the client to ensure all the demanding automotive standards are adhered to.Projects I’ve worked on in this role include a refrigeration system and motorised drinks cabinet that sits in between the rear seats of a Bentley Mulsanne. Engineering lead for multiple air vent systems for Aston Martin. Design of tooling suits to manufacture Bentley tech finish veneer panels. Typical part designs include injection mouldings, machined and press formed.

Generating CAD designs and drawings of in-house tooling including press tools, CNC fixtures, checking fixtures and assembly jigs. Often working independently as I was the sole CAD engineer for the company at the time. Software used was Catia V5 and Solidworks.

In my first role as a post graduate I was responsible for supporting the development team in the introduction of new parts into production (high precision CNC parts for the automotive industry). Tasks included creating process drawings using AutoCAD, tolerance stack up analysis, process fixture design, completing APQP process documentation, part testing and CMM operation.
