Experienced relationship manager with a demonstrated history of working with both export companies and government entities in the international trade and development industry. Skilled professional with developed key competencies in Leadership, Relationship Building, Business Development, Account Management, Strategy, Networking and Public Speaking. Earnt my 'export stripes' marketing and selling a dairy product to infant formula and pharmaecutical manufacturers in South East Asia and China. Then built on that by developing a direct sales force in Australia with a medical device company, as well building and managing a network of in-market partners and distributors globally. This experience gave me a great grounding to be able to work in an advisory role with exporting companies, helping them develop and implement strategies to grow their international business. It is a privileged position to be able to work with so many companies in that way, getting to see their inner workings and look for areas on where to add value. The highlight of my career to this point has no doubt been four years as New Zealand's Consul General to British Columbia and Trade Commissioner to Canada. It was a privilege and an honour to be New Zealand's official representative to the beautiful Canadian province of five million people, and amongst other things in that time, officiate the making of five new New Zealand citizens. On both a professional and personal front it was a great experience to be able to live in and learn about North America, and experience the vast range of cultures that make it up. I am now enjoying using the collective experience above, to share back with New Zealand exporters, through leading a team of experienced advisors to add value and grow their international business.
