I started a new venture with Halfords after being recommended by an old colleague to join. In my short time I have already achieved some amazing results. I was appointed to the BikeHut in Taunton which is a top 50 store moments before the Christmas peak trading period. With my new team by my side we successfully went through one of the biggest Christmas period in the stores history coming second in the area to Plymouth (top 10 store) also this was done with 0 customer complaints. I have been acting store manager on multiple occasions due to holidays and meeting commitments which has meant I have acquired knowledge of the entire store not just the BikeHut. Halfords launched an in-store tablet proposition which after the success I saw in my own store I have now taken on a role to grow this across the entire area, the success of this will be measured on a month by month basis and I am looking forward to see growth from all 19 other stores and propel my area to top of the company.UPDATE APRIL 2016I have now been appointed as Auto leisure / senior assistant manager as my last step towards developing into a store manager role. The continued success from my champion role with the instore tablet and the recent launch of e-Receipts has now moved me to a 'digital champion' helping coach and push the area to be the best in the company on both tablet sales and e-Receipts

Working flexible shifts between the hours of 8am-9pm, my main responsibility was to manage the sales floor. This involved maximising the sales potential by sourcing the correct team member to assist each customer and ensuring all staff are fully briefed with the most up to date information in their specialised area. I also completed regular reviews with my team to discuss their performance against the KPI targets, planning and delivering coaching sessions where appropriate and taking any necessary disciplinary action. I launched ‘areas of responsibility’ for my colleagues, meaning that they have their own part of the store to manage. I was the driving force of a large success in my store focusing on the Business to Business proposition, a new proposition for Currys which was transferred across from PC World. The stores performance improved by over 100% and is continuing to grow even now.

In this role my main duties are to ensure all customers get served, I replenish stock when needed and keep to a cleaning rota to ensure the shop is a clean environment. I also get tasked with being a shift leader in the absence of a supervisor, this involves ensuring all staff get correct breaks, checking fridge temperatures, reporting any problems to the site duty manager.

In this role I made deliveries to customer homes, schools and shops. I also deliver large amounts of goods to other wholesale sites and butchers. I am responsible for the upkeep of the van and managing my own time effectively. I regularly complete my deliveries early and will help out in the shop in any way I can from bagging up small cuts for the wholesale to helping clean down the cutting plant.

I started my career in taunton as a part time warehouse colleague, I progressed to be management by 2009 when I was asked to be part of the launch of the new megastore in cribbs causeway. During my time there I was part of the team that had the most successful first year of any megastore opening propelling the store to be top of the company.
