Data Virtuality is a data integration and management platform for instant data access, easy data centralization, and data governance. Data Virtuality’s platform enables businesses to build a single source of truth in the virtual layer on top of the existing data environment for high data quality, data governance, and fast time-to-market. It combines data virtualization and materialization for the highest possible performance and can be hosted in the cloud or on-premises.

In a hybrid role of Database Engineering and BI, I led a team that was in charge of data management and BI reports. The growth and diversification of the portfolio as well global expansion through acquisitions, significantly influenced the data volume and data variety that my team had to deal with. I quickly noticed that we wouldn’t be able to meet the constantly changing goals and business requirements with what was available in the market and our own development capabilities. For instance, when I needed to change the integration mode we had to develop all the integration logic from scratch and repeat the work. There was no one tool that offered different integration technologies which I needed for the ever changing needs of the company. This helped me to identify a gap in the market and start a research project at the university which turned into a company later on.
