In August 2016 we established a new entity called Nexus Analytics Pte Ltd (in Singapore) and Nexus Analytics Sdn Bhd (In Malaysia), for the sole purpose of providing a focused effort in the distribution of analytical instruments and consumables. Research instruments will continue to focus on the life science research sector; mainly genomics, cell research and proteomics.Nexus Analytics will take over all responsibility for the analytical instrument market. It’s my belief, now more than ever, that a truly effective ‘Solution’ partner needs to be deeply involved with customers including an in-depth understanding of their applications, anticipating their needs and providing world-class technical support. The more products we have, and the more markets we serve, the harder this gets. Our various ‘analytical’ products have a lot of synergies and common customers. But far less in the core life science research markets. Therefore I have relinquished my role in Research Instruments and will assume the position of Managing Director of Nexus Analytics for both countries.

Over the past year Research Instruments has undergone a significant expansion, now known as the RI Group of Companies, covering Singapore, Malaysia and ThailandIn doing so we have enhanced the portfolio of Research Instruments, by adding Camag’s HPTLC and PS Analytical’ s products to the Chemical Analysis division, also adding On-line Particle sizing from Xoptix and Powder Rheology from Freeman Technology to our Material Science division. For Life Science new products include Bioer real time PCR and FluidImaging for particle Counting and ImagingWhile staying true to our core focus we have been able expand our product range to present a more complete solution offering to our customers, As a result 2013 showed a significant rebound in revenue, up 80% and profitability.

Research Instruments; consist of approximately 65 sales, application and service personnel in Malaysia and 55 in Singapore. We sell and support Waters full range of Chromatography equipment, TA Thermal analysis and Rheology systems, Thermo Nicolet and Horiba's particle characterisation instruments

Offering a focused service to European, American and Asian companies looking to expand in Asia, who need to outsource their distributor sourcing / management to a locally based company, specialising in Scientific Instruments. Chose a more focussed approach to ‘Solution selling’ and positioned SH as a solution provider, as opposed to a general laboratory providerAbolished the former Lab and INS divisions and Focussed on a Material Science, Chemical Analysis and Life Science portfolio, concentrating initially on high end products where SH could add value. As a result brought all 3 countries into sustainable growth and profitability within 12 months. Maintained an average growth rate of + 20% pa for the following 8 years. Staff strength grew by 200 % over the first 3 years Restructured and relocated division DKSH Technology (Philippines) Achieved break even within 6 months and profitability within 18 months + 500K USDWithin three months, integrated the three INS companies acquired by DKSH Australia into single entity. Malvern Instruments is a UK based company specialising in Particle characterisation instruments, such as particle size, particle charge and molecular weight determinations. Key Responsibilities & AchievementsResponsible for the sale, service and distribution of scientific capital equipment, to diverse markets including research, industrial, pharmaceutical and minerals. Successfully set up an Asian wide distribution network. Total sales increased by 100% p.a. over the first 2 years.

Leadership of sales and technical support staff in pursuit of GBP 2m sales targets. Strong growth recorded in Academia, Refineries, Food and Chemicals markets, as a result of strong customer partnerships and collaborations. Received the Highest sales award for achieving 133% of 1989 sales plan.

Full product line responsibility (HPLC, Dani Gas Chromatographs, UV-Vis and Fluorescence technologies, Beta and Gamma counters) across the Chemicals, Pharma, Research and Hospital sectors. Achieved significant revenue growth and established expansive network groups with strong industry collaborations.
