I am a US Navy veteran. I served aboard the USS Ashland (LSD-48) and deployed twice, in 2008 and 2010. In 2010 my ship assisted in Operation Unified Response after a 7.0 magnitude earthquake struck Haiti. Also in 2010, the ship was mistaken for a merchant vessel and attacked by Somali pirates. This incident led to the first piracy sentencing being handed down in Norfolk, VA in over 150 years. My service time afforded me great opportunities to learn about myself, see many great places, and meet people from all different backgrounds. With my recently obtained Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, I am seeking a career change. My diverse and unique background, from the military to information technology to the legal field makes me a great fit for any organization as I am able to adapt and learn immediately. The technology industry is one that has always interested me and when the pandemic hit, I decided it was time to obtain my degree and make a change to a career that I am incredibly excited about. My excitement is demonstrated by my graduating with honors (Summa Cum Laude), being a Chancellor's List Honoree, and being a member of SALUTE Veterans National Honors Society.Obtaining this degree has given me knowledge and training on many new areas of interest, including security concepts, cloud computing, networking concepts, ethical hacking, system administration, & digital forensics. This newly acquired degree also provided me with preparation for the CISSP certification, for which I am currently studying for. All of this knowledge now pairs with my already well-honed skills, with the most crucial being my troubleshooting abilities.Combining my skills in troubleshooting and complex problem solving with the new knowledge I have attained will allow me to be an impactful colleague immediately. I also bring with me exceptional attention to detail, leadership abilities, and an active security clearance from the Department of Justice.Currently, I am working for the US Department of Justice as a Criminal Legal Assistant for the US Attorney's office in Philadelphia, PA. My job is to assist attorneys in discovery, legal research, legal writing, and trial preparation.I am recently married (September 2023) and am an avid Philadelphia sports fan with season tickets for the Philadelphia Flyers.
