As a Graduate Engineer, I am responsible for enabling the delivery of all aspects of the construction project. This includes contributing to the planning process, writing documentation for the client (Network Rail), managing multiple sub-contractors simultaneously, and working day-to-day with site operatives. o Contributing to the planning process – assisting senior managers with solutions to delivery, attending weekly program meetings and controlling materials orders.o Writing documentation – including Risk Assessment & Method Statements (legal document); detailing the specifics of work to be carried out. Documents are approved by client and briefed to the workforce.o Controlling information – required to communicate with the workforce and office staff and ensure the correct information is in the right place at the right time.o Setting out – controlling and interpreting engineering drawings, collating data and delivering a suitable method of “setting out” to the workforce. Includes extensive use of Excel, AutoCAD and Leica surveying software & equipment.o Quality Assurance – managing and recording test data for all construction materials. Responsible for checking and authorising concrete pours. Implemented a new process for controlling concrete QA.
