Worked concurrently with engineering to fix problems before they occurred. Established manufacturing processes and techniques to improve on time delivery, product quality and lead time reductions.Setup a production CNC machine shop in-house and purchased capital equipment with return on investment analysis. Brought 75% of production in house and reduced operational expenses by 15% year over year.

During my time as Sr. Mechanical Engineer I was responsible for the introduction of new products from product conceptualization to release to manufacturing. The Atlas positioner was my proudest accomplishment. The positioner had a repeatability of less than .05° in the rotation of the azimuth and elevation axis.

At 3D Engineering I was primarily responsible for opto mechanical designs using Solidworks. Interfacing with customers, developing concepts and seeing them through fabrication were my daily responsibilities. We worked on the OPuS 1 optical pulse stretcher and developed sophisticated gimbal systems cooled by advanced laminar flow nozzles.

Designed automated testing equipment for high frequency reed relays. Gravity fed test handling equipment increased throuput of final testing from 1000 pieces per day to 8000 pieces per day. Worked directly with engineering manager to develop manufacturing practices based off six sigma and lean manufacturing principles.
