I worked as a research assistant to Dr. Paula Stephan on a study of market concentration of federal funding of universities. This included working with large data sets, calculating measures of market concentration based on this data and then presenting that data visually in various graphs. In doing this work I spent many hours in front of a computer screen.

I worked as a lifeguard for two years. I was certified as a lifeguard as well as in CPR. I worked as a head lifeguard while there. This meant that when the pool manager was not present I was in charge of the pool as well as being responsible for the other guards on duty. As part of the job I was trained in how to manage the pool pumps and performed regular.

I had to be able to engage them in conversation if they had a desire to talk or be quiet if they didn't want to speak with me.
