I am a supply chain and quality management professional with 10+ years of experience. My early career managers were akin to the parents who signed their children up for every sport imaginable. As such, I acquired and practiced skills spanning supplier relationship management and performance improvement, make/buy analyses, Six Sigma problem solving, Lean process improvement, and cost of quality analyses. I have built and relocated quality lab operations. I have programmed mechanical metrology equipment and guided sections of ERP system implementations. I have studied and rewritten quality documentation to support AS9100 and IECEx hazardous locations approvals. I may not know something…but I am certainly going to learn it!My leadership experience is similarly diverse, including concurrent management of new graduate engineers and quality control inspectors with 35+ years of experience. My Management of Technology Masters degree taught me to love sensemaking and data analysis. My favorite Six Sigma tool will always be “5 Whys.” It is so simple and yet elicits so much insight. I thoroughly believe that we cannot manage – let alone improve – what cannot be measured. If these numbers could talk, what stories would they tell? How do I filter out the noise of the data to uncover the true signal? How do I somehow weave everything I’ve learned into a coherent tale that even a CEO will appreciate?
