QUALIFICATIONSAdministration and Management - Experience with strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership skills, and coordination of people and resourcesEngineering and Technology - Advanced knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology, including principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment as they apply to design and productionGeography - Comprehensive understanding of professional surveying terminology, as well as physical characteristics, features, and interrelationships of landAPPLICABLE SKILLS & RESPONSIBILITIES• Verify the accuracy of survey data including measurements and calculations conducted at survey sites• Calculate heights, depths, and relative positions, property lines, and other characteristics of terrain Perform instrument works, such as computing and/or staking substructure lines and grades• Prepare and maintain sketches, maps, reports, and legal descriptions of surveys to describe, certify, and assume liability for work performed• Prepare or supervise preparation of all data, plots, maps, records, and documents related to surveys• Compute geodetic measurements and interpret survey data to determine positions, shapes, and elevations of geomorphic and topographic features• Determine longitudes and latitudes of important features and boundaries using transits, levels, and satellite-based global position systems (GPS)• Perform instrument works, such as computing and/or staking substructure lines and grades• Interpret foundations piles, excavation limits, curbs, and gutters, sewers and under drains, culverts, box culverts, and major drainage structures• Data entry for embankment grades, cross sections and slopes, right-of-way for road or bridge layouts, vertical and horizontal alignments for roadways, and vertical controls for drainage
