1. Receives, identifies, segregates, stores, and prepares for shipment of household hazardous waste for recycling/treatment/disposal. 2. Sets-up, breaks down, and cleans collection facility and equipment. 3. Arranges and conducts home/off-site pickups of household hazardous waste. 4. Coordinates hazardous waste recycling programs (i.e. Old Paint Recycling, Household Battery Collection & Recycling, Oil, Oil Filter & Antifreeze Recycling, Waste Exchange, etc.) including bid specifications for contractors and contract management/compliance.5. Develops and helps implement vehicles of public/community outreach and education for City and County residents. 6. Answers questions and educates public on City’s Household Hazardous Waste Management Program (i.e. procedures, eligibility requirements, recycling programs, etc.) hazardous materials use/reuse, disposal alternatives, and collection and treatment options. 7. Conducts research for new/alternative Household Hazardous Waste/CESQG operations/programs and industry hazardous waste recycling and treatment technologies/options 8. Documents/tracks data, maintains databases and prepares reports (including charts, graphs, tables, slides, etc.) on customer participation, waste characterization and tracking, recycling percentage, etc. for use in meeting state reporting requirements, future reports, presentations, etc. Also part of my duties within the past year at city of Austin now include working closely with a manager at the cities landfill. My duties at the landfill include 1. Leachate trench monitoring2. Conducting monthly inspection and maintenance report 3. Conducting closure inspections 4. Leachate collection system monitoring 5. Keeping a rainfall record of every rain event 6. Storm event sampling 7. Ensuring environmental compliance and is operating within the parameters of the permit 8. Training of other assistant managers on environmental compliance of the landfill 9. Working on new Site Operating Plan
