He has just written 'Coventry Connections', a 50 year chronicle of Coventry University's ATD course. In 2018 he wrote a major work on the history of Land Rover Design, to celebrate their 70 years as a brand. This follows two other books on Jaguar Design, published Sept 2015, and 'Ford Design in the UK' published July 2017.NHD has worked with a number of OEMs on brand identity and signature, design strategy and technology trends. Nick was a visiting tutor at Umea Institute of Design in Sweden and ISD-Rubika in France for design management, automotive design, tape drawing and clay sculpting tuition. He developed a number of transport design workshops and modules that cover both 2D and 3D development of projects. From 2002 Nick was a senior lecturer with Coventry University, teaching Automotive and Transport Design to both BA and MA students.

Link tutor for International studies, in particular a new Transport Design course with Nanjing University of Science & Technology (NJUST) that has been set up as an extension to the well-known undergraduate course at Coventry University. Students from Nanjing will spend their final year of studies in the UK.

Final Year Tutor and Course Director for undergraduate Transport Design 2011-2014. Tutoring students in design research, future scenarios and 3D form development.Collaborative projects undertaken with Land Rover in 2014, Bentley, MG-SAIC, Ricardo, Renault, Ferrari, Mazda, Ford, Fiat, Lancia and Alfa Romeo.Nick has been responsible for many aspects of running the undergraduate Transport Design course, including internships and collaborative projects with outside companies and course recruitment. Course Tutor for MA Automotive Design course Sept 2003-May 2009. In 2004 he helped to establish the MA in Automotive Journalism and the MA in Automotive Interiors at Coventry University. In 2011, Nick co-developed a CPD course in Perceived Quality for use by OEMs.

As associate editor Nick regularly contributed design reviews, conducted interviews with designers and helped built the website into the leading publication for car design, with over 3 million pages viewed per month and 700,000 absolute unique visitors. Following the sale of the company to Ultimamedia, he remains as a contributor for the website and its sister publication Interior Motives.

Worked in close liaison with European suppliers for interior plastics, fabrics and paint. Responsible for developing the original interior design for XJ220B from the 1988 concept car into series production, plus detailing for the final exterior design.
