Experienced junior software developer with a passion for creating thorough and efficient solutions. I began my coding journey at the age of 14 because I wanted to take my Minecraft network, CozyCloud, to the next level. I grew tired of relying on inadequate software to live up to the intricate vision I had for CozyCloud, so I took it upon myself to learn Java to develop the server exactly how I wanted it. After running it for 7 years, I learned so much about the importance of scalable, future-proof code, and the mistakes I made in the beginning have cultivated my skills in ways a textbook never could.After a sudden boom of activity in 2020 due to the pandemic, it became necessary to optimize the storage of user data. In light of this, I learned SQL and how to make SQL queries within Java using JDBC. I collaborated with CozyCloud's systems administrator who was knowledgable in MariaDB, and together we transformed the network into one that utilized databases for user data instead of YAML files.Although most of my work has been private development for CozyCloud, I wanted to give back to the Minecraft community by creating a public resource that could be used by any other Minecraft server. I developed a project called ChatImage which allows users to send images in text chat—a feature not native to the game. I wanted to make this feature viable for any community, so through the use of a REST API, I added an optional feature for content filtration. Through this project, I have gained valuable experience in maintaining a GitHub repository and version control concepts. It has also allowed me to receive constructive feedback from admins that actively use my software; because of my attention to their feedback, the project has maintained a 100% five-star rating on SpigotMC since the day it was published.Now a recent graduate from CPCC, I am excited to embark on new opportunities where I can contribute my technical competence, attention to detail, and commitment toward delivering high-quality work.
