Co-FounderMash; Media Artists Serving Humanity Nov 2016 - PresentStanding Rock, NdMedia Artists Serving Humanity is a collaborative vision from digital/multimedia artists responding to humanitarian issues around the globe. The pilot project was initiated in November 2016 at Standing Rock, North Dakota. A vintage 36 foot military tent was transformed into a solar powered studio with work stations, editing machines and remote wifi. The studio quickly became a hot spot for media professionals to collaborate on film, music and campaign related projects. The MASH studio remained at Standing Rock throughout the winter of 2017, operating in subzero temperatures. At end of its tenure at Standing Rock, M.A.S.H. members launched the Sovereign Sounds Project, bringing audio and music mastering workshops to reservations throughout the United States. In April 2019, MASH members traveled to Pine Ridge Indian Reservation to offer much needed media coverage and timely exposure of the winter's flooding and damage from devastating storms. With a goal of documenting and supporting a case for FEMA funding, in June 2019, FEMA Disaster Relief funding was awarded to Pine Ridge Indian Reservation. It's our desire to continue to pursue opportunities for media artists to serve humanity wherever we feel called to do so.
