I am in charge of the day to day/week to week operations of the Portage Lake Bible Camp during both summer and the retreat season. I program retreats as well as summer camps, travel to churches and schools to promote camp, hire and lead summer staff as well as an intern staff for the retreat season, but most of all work to show campers the love of Christ.

I work 12 hours a week, learning about animal husbandry and enrichment, working with local fauna, including a range of animals from herps such as garter snakes and leopard frogs, to raptors such as an American Kestrel and a Golden Eagle. I also assist in leading programs for school groups and for the community.

I work in labs with students helping them work through the lab. I sometimes will grade assignments for the professor, and I also work in the stockroom, in case something breaks or is lost and needs replacing.

Each week, I had cabin of kids, of varying age week to week. I was responsible for the kids in my cabin, lead them in devotionals, as well as organized tournaments and sports games for the entire camp during free time. During Family Camps, I set up and led daily Camper vs. Staff games such as soccer, volleyball, basketball, etc.

Worked there for a couple summers, priced donations, put them on the floor, ran the cash register cleaned, and went on truck runs for deliveries and donation pick-ups.

I unloaded trailers of furniture, and scanned them in, then transported the to another location on site. I worked here for a summer until I injured my shoulder and could no longer lift heavy boxes.
