Great Western Electrification Project- Overseeing the civil engineering design & construction of 27 substations and associated HV cable routes between Maidenhead and Cardiff.- Civils Design of circa 400 track section switches and associated cable routes and control cabinets across 150 miles of track.- Managing specialist civils design consultants, ground investigation contractors, topographic survey contractors, ground penetrating radar and specialist Geo-Environmental surveys- Deputy Civils CRE- CRE Construction (Civils)- Appointed Person for Cranes- Temporary Works Supervisor

Production manager responsible for the production of 13500 precast concrete tunnel lining rings. Dragados-Sisk Joint Venture (DSJV) have established a segment manufacturing facility to produce tunnel lining segments for 22km of tunnel for Crossrail in Chatham Docks.Reporting the Factory Manager, my role is to manage all aspect of production, quality, health and safety for the precast concrete production. This includes mangement of subcontracts for concrete supply, labour supply, storage of segments, loading and transportation via barge to London.The production is currently operating 24 hours per day in order the meet the demand for ring consumption by the tunnel boring machines. This involves managing a workforce of 150.

Construction Manager / Resident Civil Engineer for the Principal Contractor (ABB) on Griffith House BSP. The BSP is part of London Underground’s ‘Cooling the Tube’ programme of works to upgrade the power supply network. The project to construct the BSP and associated cabling works is valued at c. £55m.• Responsible for the construction of all civils aspects of the BSP• Excavation to a depth of 12m of a site sandwiched between highway and the tube lines. Complex propping arrangement, track monitoring strategy requiring CAT3 check and LUL approval.• Successfully coordinated all construction works on very congested site. Development of tall plant concessions for construction within 5m of the running tube lines.• Review of all Method Statements to ensure health and safety compliance and gain client approval.• Review of all civil designs to ensure compliance with the specification and provide design assurance to the Client. Coordinating civil and electrical designs from D & B subcontractors. • Developed quality plan, inspection and test plans for all civils aspects and ensured compliance. Managed handover process (QICC) with LUL and asset operator (Powerlink). Oversaw production of O&M Manuals and Data Packs.• Monitoring programme and reporting to ABB Senior Project Manager• Responsible for raising commercial issues via the Project QS. Executing the NEC contract, reviewing payment activity schedules, ensuring good records were maintained.• Managing client’s expectations. Hosted numerous site visits by TFL and LUL senior management. I was generally the first point of contact between ABB & LUL.

Riverside Energy from Waste (EfW) plant, a £300m project to construct the largest EfW plant in the country. • Management of subcontract packages for steelwork and cladding – c. £25m. This consisted of detailed planning and programming of the sections, coordinating activities with the other Agents, updating sectional programme in line with main construction programme, preparing and presenting reports on progress and programme• Design management of steelwork and cladding packages. Coordination of these with M&E and Process designs.• Identify any temporary works required and coordinate with the engineering department for timely production of designs. Also responsible for production of Inspection and Test Plans and gaining Client approval.• Major input into coordinating works with mechanical, electrical and process equipment packages.

Hornsey Pre-Treatment, a £40million upgrade project for Thames Water, to improve the clean water treatment. • Management of project team and ensure that the project was delivered on time and to budget.• Subcontract manager packages including reinforced concrete, steel frame, cladding, blockwork, and sewer / shaft packages. My daily tasks included: implementing and managing health, safety and environmental legislation, implementing best practice, applying commercial / cost control, liaising with designers, commercial department and planners• Major excavations in close proximity to statutory reservoir, river and railway. Temporary works design required client and Network Rail approval.• Responsible for reporting on progress and programme, the management of quality assurance and quality control to the required specification by ensuring that inspection and test plans existed before sub-contractors started work and that the relevant checks were carried out. • Provided leadership and organisation, accounted for engineering methods, including temporary works plan, programme and monitoring and review of quality systems. I was temporary works coordinator and Appointed Person for Cranes.

Various projects at Heathrow Airport as part of the Pavement and Infrastructure Team.• Agent on a £7m project to reconstruct / rehabilitate the taxiway for use by the Airbus A380. Required excellent communication & planning with Airfield Operations to minimise disruption to the airfield and ensure the airport remains operational. I joined the project team at the early stages and brought it through design development; build up of the target cost, risk identification and risk management. I was responsible for reporting to the Airport Manager on a weekly basis on programme and progress, financial aspects and operational issues. • Phase 9 of the project took possession of section of live taxiway overnight and handing back each morning, requiring detailed planning, precise nightly briefs and a thorough understanding of Airport procedures.• Senior Engineer / Sub Agent on the £10.5m project to rebuild a section of aircraft taxiway and construct new stands for the A380. My role included managing the site team, leasing with the Designer to resolve technical queries, managing Supply Chain Partners & communicating with Airfield Operations.
