- Responsible for contributing to ongoing college projects’- Training students on operation of 3D printers and laser cutters

In this role, I am responsible for conceptual design, signal validation, standardization and calibration for all instrumentation systems for the Lipscomb Engineering Wind Tunnel. I have been tasked with updating current instrumentation systems with new wiring as well as researching, budgeting, and installing new sensors, load cells, solenoids, and dampers for future use. I have also been hard at work designing and prototyping mounting systems for aerospace instrumentation devices such as flowstations, sting mounts, and pressure cylinders. My responsibilities often lead me to situations where I am combining various concepts from fluid mechanics, dynamics, and sometimes strengths/mechanics of materials in order to evaluate designs proposed by my advising staff before fabrication begins. The various tools and programs I have been using include: Solidworks, OnShape, Keysight DAQ, Matlab, and Excel.

• Rebuilt and retrofitted components of Lipscomb’s wind tunnel prototype with aid of Solidworks for design and prototyping• Conducted experiments focused on reducing interference in data collection caused by turbulence• Carried out basic CFD calculations and simulations utilizing Ubuntu Linux, OpenFoam, Salome, and Paraview• Wrote a report of all progress at end of research period, including graphed data, images, and procedures for future reference.
