Nick Mavis is a Senior Research Engineer for Talos Intelligence at Cisco Systems and currently resides in Baltimore, MD.He started his career in security working for Sourcefire back in January of 2013. Not too long after that, Nick transitioned to the Vulnerability Research Team, also known as the Sourcefire VRT, where Nick began his work as a research engineer and started writing signatures for Snort and ClamAV.Nick has been performing security research over 7 years since first starting at Sourcefire/Cisco and he still loves every moment of it. He has made contributions in vulnerability development, reverse engineering, and more.Outside of work, Nick tends to embrace a ton of different hobbies, but for the most part he is an avid pool player, ride motorcycles, and love to do anything related to being in the water.
